What’s Happened So Far This Season

It’s been a stunning start to 2026, and one man has dominated almost every conversation: Kimi Antonelli. The 19-year-old Mercedes driver has won five races in a row, and right now nobody seems to have an answer for him. His lead in the drivers’ championship is 66 points, which is honestly a bit ridiculous at this stage of the year.

Mercedes has been in a class of their own. They’ve won all six races contested so far, and their constructors’ lead is growing fast. It’s reminiscent of those dominant Red Bull years, except this time it’s a teenager from Italy doing the damage.

Lewis Hamilton moved up to second in the championship after a strong drive to second at Monaco for Ferrari. He’s been one of the bright spots outside the Mercedes bubble, and Ferrari as a whole have looked solid if not quite at the front. Charles Leclerc, however, had a nightmare in Monaco after hitting the wall on the restart, which will sting heading into Barcelona.

Max Verstappen has been the big disappointment of the season so far. The four-time world champion has suffered a string of technical retirements, including retiring on lap one in Monaco with power unit issues. Red Bull have a lot of ground to make up. Lando Norris and McLaren have been in the mix at times, with a few podiums to show for it, but they’ve also had their share of bad luck.

Aston Martin? They finally scored their first point of the season in Monaco, thanks to a post-race penalty handed to Cadillac’s Sergio Perez. Fernando Alonso will take it, but the car clearly isn’t where they hoped it would be.

Why Monaco Is a Must-Watch Race

The Monaco Grand Prix has been part of Formula 1 for decades and remains one of the most prestigious races in motorsport. The circuit winds through the streets of Monte Carlo, passing famous locations such as Casino Square, the Fairmont Hairpin, and the tunnel section before drivers return to the harborfront.

Qualifying often determines the outcome of the race because overtaking is notoriously difficult around the tight circuit. This makes Saturday’s qualifying session almost as important as Sunday’s Grand Prix itself.

The atmosphere around Monaco is unique. Luxury yachts fill the harbor, celebrities attend throughout the weekend, and the event attracts worldwide media attention. Combined with the technical challenge of the circuit, it creates one of the most anticipated races of every Formula 1 season.

What to Expect from the Current Formula 1 Season

The current Formula 1 season has already delivered major storylines, intense rivalries, and surprising performances across the grid. Red Bull continues to remain one of the strongest teams in Formula 1, but rivals such as Ferrari, McLaren, and Mercedes are constantly improving and closing the gap.

Max Verstappen once again enters the Canadian Grand Prix as one of the favorites due to Red Bull’s impressive race pace and consistency. However, tracks like Montreal can create opportunities for unexpected results, especially with safety cars and changing weather conditions playing a major role.

McLaren has shown significant progress throughout the season with strong qualifying performances and aggressive race strategies. Ferrari continues to demonstrate raw speed, while Mercedes appears determined to return to championship contention after difficult recent seasons.

The midfield battle is also incredibly competitive this year. Teams such as Aston Martin, Alpine, RB, Haas, Sauber, and Williams are fighting closely for valuable points, making every qualifying session and race lap important.

One of the reasons Formula 1 remains so exciting is the unpredictability of modern racing. Tire strategy, pit stop timing, weather changes, and safety car periods can completely transform a Grand Prix within minutes.

Best Devices for Streaming Formula 1

Modern Formula 1 streaming services support a wide range of devices, allowing fans to watch races almost anywhere. Popular options include:

  • Smart TVs
  • Amazon Fire TV
  • Apple TV
  • Android devices
  • iPhone and iPad
  • Gaming consoles
  • Laptops and desktop computers

For the best experience during the Canadian Grand Prix, fans should ensure they have a stable internet connection, especially when streaming in HD or 4K quality.

How to watch F1 Miami Grand Prix Online

After a five-week break Formula 1 returns to racing in Miami, USA for the first American race of the season and the second Sprint weekend of the year. That gap usually resets momentum across the grid, which makes this race more important than it might look on paper.

If you are trying to watch the Miami Grand Prix online, the main challenge is not finding streams, it is finding ones that actually work when the race starts. Below is a straightforward breakdown of official platforms and commonly used free streaming sites.

Formula 1 Live Stream

Official F1 Streaming Platforms

The most reliable way to watch the Miami Grand Prix is through official broadcasters. These platforms offer full race weekend coverage including practice, qualifying, sprint sessions, and the race itself.

In the United States, Formula 1 coverage is available through Apple TV. The service includes live races, onboard cameras, and full replays.

In the UK, Sky Sports F1 remains the main option. You can stream through Sky Go or NOW, both of which provide live coverage and additional analysis.

For viewers across Europe, F1 TV Pro is widely available and gives direct access to all sessions without depending on regional broadcasters.

Free F1 Streaming Sites

Free streaming platforms are still widely used, especially for viewers who want quick access without subscriptions. The most common sites include:

  • totalsportek
  • westreamf1
  • f1livegp
  • streameast

These sites usually provide multiple links for each session. It is normal to test a few before finding one that works properly. Stream quality can range from HD to unstable feeds depending on traffic.

Expect pop-up ads and occasional interruptions. It is also worth noting that legality varies by region, so users should be aware of local regulations before using these platforms.

Miami Grand Prix Weekend Format

The Miami weekend follows a Sprint format this time, which changes the usual structure:

  • Friday: Practice and Sprint Qualifying
  • Saturday: Sprint Race and Qualifying
  • Sunday: Grand Prix

This format adds more competitive sessions and reduces practice time, which can lead to unpredictable results.

2026 Formula 1 Championship

The current Formula 1 season has been tighter than expected. Early races have shown smaller performance gaps, with multiple teams capable of fighting near the front.

Mercedes has started strongly, while McLaren continues to improve with consistent finishes. Ferrari remains close behind, regularly competing for podium positions.

Red Bull has not had the same level of dominance seen in previous seasons, which has made the championship battle more open heading into Miami.

Formula 1 Streaming Tips

  • Open your stream at least 10 to 15 minutes before the start
  • Keep a backup link ready if using free sites
  • Use a stable internet connection for better quality
  • Double check race times in your local time zone

How to watch F1 Japan Grand Prix Online

The Suzuka Circuit is ready for another big race weekend. The 2026 Formula 1 season continues with Round 3 at the Formula 1 Aramco Japanese Grand Prix from March 27 to 29.

This track is one of the most demanding on the calendar. Its figure-eight layout, fast esses, and the famous 130R corner have created some of the sport’s most memorable races. With new regulations in place this season, the story in 2026 looks very different.

The 2026 F1 Season So Far

The new era started in Melbourne on March 6 to 8. Mercedes made an immediate impact. George Russell won the opening race and led home teammate Kimi Antonelli for a one-two finish.

In Shanghai on March 13 to 15, Mercedes stayed on top. Antonelli took his first Grand Prix win, while Russell dominated the sprint race. The team secured another one-two finish.

After two rounds, Mercedes has maximum points and a clear advantage.

Drivers’ Championship (after Round 2)

  • George Russell – 51 points
  • Kimi Antonelli – 47 points
  • Charles Leclerc – 34 points
  • Lewis Hamilton – 33 points
  • Oliver Bearman – 17 points
  • Lando Norris – 15 points

Constructors’ Championship

  • Mercedes – 98 points
  • Ferrari – 67 points
  • McLaren – 18 points
  • Haas – 17 points

The new rules include lighter cars, stronger hybrid systems, and active aerodynamics. Mercedes has adapted better than the rest so far. Antonelli has impressed early, and Russell looks like a serious title contender.

Ferrari is still working through reliability and tyre issues. Lewis Hamilton is also adjusting to his new team. McLaren and Red Bull are currently behind the front two teams.

Japanese Grand Prix Preview

The circuit is known for high-speed corners, which should suit Mercedes. Early data suggests they are very strong in this area.

  • Sunday: Partly cloudy with a small chance of rain

How to watch F1 Chinese Grand Prix Online

The Chinese Grand Prix always stands out on the F1 calendar. There’s something special about the Shanghai International Circuit – those long straights where cars hit insane speeds, the tricky hairpin that catches drivers out, and the whole vibe of racing in China. For 2026, the race weekend runs from March 13 to 15, and it’s another sprint format event, which means extra action packed into the days.

Formula 1 Live Stream

Here’s how the weekend shakes out (all times local in Shanghai, which is UTC+8):

  • Friday, March 13: Free Practice 1 gets things going in the evening, followed by sprint qualifying late night/early morning.
  • Saturday, March 14: The sprint race itself, then regular qualifying for the main Grand Prix.
  • Sunday, March 15: Lights out for the full race at 15:00 local time.

Official ways like F1 TV Pro deliver the best experience – crystal-clear streams, onboard cams, team radio, the lot. In the US, Apple TV has exclusive rights for 2026 with solid subscription deals (and sometimes trials). Elsewhere, you’ve got Sky Sports in the UK, free options on ServusTV/ORF in Austria, or local Chinese broadcasts via Tencent or SMG. Plenty of places still have free-to-air for big races too.

If those are blocked where you are, a decent VPN lets you hop to a server in a supported country and watch legally without hassle. It’s reliable and keeps things smooth.

Popular Free and Alternative Streaming Sites

Now, for folks hunting free ways to tune in, there are some popular unofficial sites that pull together live links for F1 events like this one. These aren’t official, so expect ads, the occasional pop-up, and varying stream quality. Reliability can change race to race, and in some countries there are legal gray areas – use at your own risk, and a VPN is smart for privacy anyway.

Here are a few that F1 fans often turn to:

  • WeStreamF1: Super focused on Formula 1. If you’re after the Chinese GP stream – practice, sprint, qualifying, whatever – it’s straightforward. No wading through NBA or soccer games. Clean layout, regular updates, especially around big weekends like Shanghai.
  • TotalSportek: One of the bigger free sports streaming spots. It usually has solid F1 sections with multiple link choices, often in HD when the source allows. Real-time updates mean you’re covered from Friday sessions right through Sunday’s race. Great if you’re traveling or just want options.
  • F1LiveGP: Built for Grand Prix fans specifically. You’ll find live streams for the Chinese event, plus replays and highlights afterward. Some sessions even have live chat so you can react with others watching. It’s nice when you want F1-only noise without distractions.
  • SportSurge: Does a bit of everything in motorsports. For the Chinese Grand Prix, it pulls streams together with low buffering (on decent internet) and backup mirrors if one drops. Handy for not missing a key overtake or that sprint finish drama.

Tips for the Best Viewing Experience

A few quick tips to make watching easier and more enjoyable:

  • Solid internet is key – aim for at least 10 Mbps if you want HD without constant buffering.
  • Grab a trusted VPN not just for streams, but to stay private.
  • Convert times properly. Shanghai’s ahead, so the race might hit your breakfast or midnight.
  • If a stream lags, jump to the official F1 app or site for live timing, standings, and sector updates.
  • New to paid services? Check for free trials on Apple TV or similar – you might get premium quality without paying upfront.

How to watch F1 Australian Grand Prix Online

New Formula 1 season begins with massive anticipation, as the sport enters a new regulatory era. Key changes include significantly boosted electric power (approaching 50% of total output), active aerodynamics for better following and overtaking, lighter overall car weight, and advanced energy recharge systems that will force teams to rethink strategy, tire management, and battery deployment during races. This could lead to more dynamic racing and unexpected results, especially in a season-opener where data is limited post-testing.

Formula 1 Live Stream

That is a relief for teams because the Las Vegas surface is still quite new and tends to get slippery when the temperature drops at night. Tyre warm up could be tricky, especially early in the sessions.

Championship Situation Heading into Vegas

Heading into Round 22, the title fight is in McLaren’s hands. Lando Norris leads the drivers standings with 390 points. Oscar Piastri is right behind on 366. Max Verstappen sits third on 341 and would need a dramatic swing of fortune to reinsert himself into the championship picture.

McLaren have effectively locked up the constructors championship. They hold a 358 point advantage over Mercedes, which is the sort of gap only a season long collapse could undo.

The previous race in Brazil was classic São Paulo chaos. Norris controlled the afternoon from pole in mixed conditions, Mercedes rookie Kimi Antonelli stunned the paddock by finishing second, and Verstappen charged from the back of the grid to secure third. McLaren celebrated another big points haul and left South America with momentum on their side.

Who Is the Favourite This Weekend

The bookmakers cannot separate the front runners. Current odds look something like this:

  • Verstappen around 7/4
  • Norris around 9/4
  • Russell around 4/1
  • Piastri around 9/2
  • Leclerc around 8/1
  • Antonelli around 12/1

Red Bull were strong here in 2024 and the long straights usually play to their strengths, but McLaren have had the quickest package since the summer break and both Norris and Piastri have been extracting everything from it. The fight at the front is incredibly tight and this could easily come down to track evolution, tyre warm up and the timing of safety cars.

Official Streaming: F1 TV

F1TV Pro remains the best premium way to watch if your country supports it. It includes every onboard camera, full team radio access, detailed live timing and no advertising. Pricing varies slightly by country but generally sits around 10 euros per month or 85 euros for the full season. F1TV Access is a cheaper alternative that offers replays and archives without the live session streams.

Free and Unofficial Streams

If you are looking for free alternatives, the usual unofficial streaming sites tend to be busy on big race weekends:

  • f1livegp.me
  • totalsportek.pro
  • sportsurge.v2
  • Weakstreams

Using an ad blocker and a VPN with a UK or Mexico server generally improves reliability, but keep in mind that these sites can be unstable or legally restricted depending on where you live.
